Privacy Policy

TwistyDrives is operated by ThinkCorp Pty Ltd, Sydney, NSW, Australia. This policy covers both the TwistyDrives website at twistydrives.com and the TwistyDrives app. It explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than in the language of a legal disclaimer.
The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we do not sell your data, we do not track you for advertising, and analytics are off unless you turn them on.
Visiting the website
Reading twistydrives.com requires no account and sets no tracking cookies. There is no advertising on it. Our host keeps standard server logs — the pages requested and the requesting network address — for security and reliability.
If you register your interest in the app, the form is a Microsoft Forms page operated by ThinkCorp Pty Ltd. We collect your email address, and anything else you choose to tell us, for one purpose: to let you know when TwistyDrives is available and occasionally to share progress. We do not sell or share it, it is not connected to any app account, and if you ask us to remove you we will, with no questions.
What we collect
Everything from here on concerns the app rather than the website.
| Your phone number | If you sign in by SMS. It identifies your account and is how we send your one-time code. |

| Your name, handle and photo | Whatever you enter when setting up your profile. These are visible to other signed-in users, which is how people find each other. You can change or remove them. |
| Your Apple or Google account | If you sign in that way, we receive an identifier and, where you allow it, your email address. We do not receive your password. |
| Your home region | Optional. Used to show roads near you before roads far away. |
| Your cars | Make, model, year and similar details you choose to add, and photos you upload. |
| Location, when driving | Only when you start a drive, and only while it runs. It produces the route trace and the statistics for that drive. We ask at the moment you first need it, not at sign-up, and you can refuse and still use the rest of the app. |
| Crash reports | When the app fails, we receive the error, the device model and operating system version. This is how faults get fixed. |
| Usage analytics | Only if you opt in. Off by default and off unless you choose otherwise. Which screens are used and which features are used — never the contents of your drives. |
Where your information is stored
Your account and its contents are stored in Australia, in Supabase's Sydney region. Some of the services below operate outside Australia, and where that applies your information is disclosed to them for the purpose described.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of services to run the app. Each receives only what it needs for the job described.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. Road data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors and is published under the Open Database Licence.
Speed and safety
Drives record speed, including a top speed. Top speed is never shown publicly by default, and nothing in the app ranks or rewards speed. If you choose to make it visible you can change that back at any time.

Analytics
Off unless you turn them on, and you can turn them off again in settings at any time.
Getting a copy of your data
You can export everything on your account from within the app, as a file you can open and read.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from within the app. Doing so makes it inaccessible straight away and permanently erases it after 30 days. The delay exists so an accidental deletion can be undone — sign in again within those 30 days and you will be asked whether you want the account back. After 30 days it is gone and cannot be recovered.
Correcting something
Most details can be edited in the app. For anything else, write to us at the address below and we will correct it.
How long we keep things
Your account and its contents are kept while the account exists, and erased 30 days after you delete it. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Analytics, if you have opted in, are kept for 12 months.
Children
TwistyDrives is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, write to us first and we will try to put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app rather than relying on you to notice.
